Africa

3 Feb

I often wonder how much more Africa can take. As a continent it has suffered from more than it’s fair share of tragedies. A peace deal has been reached in Kenya, yet the violence and deaths continue. Yesterday I read about rebels seizing the capital in Chad.  Today I read about the earthquake in Rwanda.  There are many forms of oppression, violence, corruption happening in Africa.  One must not forget famine and the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Many countries are devastated, including Sudan, Somalia, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Zambia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Lesotho, Burkina Faso, Sierra Leone and more.

Please pray for Africa, and support the African people in any way in which you can. Another generation is growing up witnessing horror and being scarred for life. Maybe you could consider sponsoring a child through Compassion, World Vision, Save The Children or another organization. It will not only give them an education, but it will ensure that they have clothes to wear, blankets to keep them warm, at least one good meal a day, and your money will help to transform their community too. Have you signed up to the One campaign/Make Poverty History? Maybe through doing little things we can make a difference and thus start a ripple effect within the continent.
