Greetings From Canada!

3 Aug

Well, I’ve finally gotten around to sitting down and writing a post 🙂 We only moved into our home and got internet last Monday! Let me fill you in on the past month then.

We flew into Halifax on July 2 and drove into NB on July 3. It really did feel like coming home. For our first three weeks we stayed on the Kingston peninsula which was across the river from where we live now. It was a little out of the way but a beautiful and relaxing base initially. It was great to go back there each afternoon after a day of visiting government buildings, banks, real estate agents etc and just chill out and kind of feel on vacation!

We went house viewing on July 4 and put an offer in on a house. We were involved in a multi-offer so we had to up our offer a little which matched someone else’s but they went with us. Three weeks later the house closed and we moved in last Monday! Our shipping also arrived then so we are feeling at home in our home too (if that makes sense!)

We have really connected with people here and have formed some good friendships which I think will become solid ones. The people are wonderful, lovely, warm and embracing. Our children have a freedom which they’ve never known before. They are making friends and are charging around the neighbourhood on their bikes. It’s really great to see.

Jonathan starts work this week so it will be big change for us. He will be working 9-5.30pm each day at an office doing graphics and web design. All of our married life I’ve been used to him being both home and office based (generally home based in the afternoon) so it will be strange having him away from home all day all week! Please pray for him as he transitions to life outside of ministry too and that the graphics and web design go well.

We haven’t really worked out why God’s called us here yet but I have a feeling it’s to do with the people ….. no doubt God will show us more as we go on.

More soon …..
