You can get updates about Rick’s condition at Brother Maynard’s. Please keep holding him and his family up in prayer. He is in a critical but stable condition.

Prayers for Rick

14 Jun

You might have already seen this:

Rick Meigs (aka Blind Beggar) has been critically injured in a hit and run motorcycle accident today:

I wanted to let everyone know that Rick Meigs was at a Motorcycle rally at Hell’s Canyon and was clipped by a vehicle which crossed the line and clipped him head on.  It was a hit and run.
He is in critical condition with two collapsed lungs and a ruptured spleen.  His wife Fran is in Texas and trying to get to Baker City before they fly him to Boise.

Please be praying for him and his family. Brother Maynard

Please keep Rick and his family in your prayers, may God’s healing hand come upon him.

Psalm 22

1 My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
Why are you so far from saving me,
so far from the words of my groaning?

2 O my God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer,
by night, and am not silent.

Psalm 42

1 As the deer pants for streams of water,
so my soul pants for you, O God.

2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When can I go and meet with God?

3 My tears have been my food
day and night,
while men say to me all day long,
“Where is your God?”

4 These things I remember
as I pour out my soul:
how I used to go with the multitude,
leading the procession to the house of God,
with shouts of joy and thanksgiving
among the festive throng.

5 Why are you downcast, O my soul?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God.
My soul is downcast within me;
therefore I will remember you
from the land of the Jordan,
the heights of Hermon—from Mount Mizar.

7 Deep calls to deep
in the roar of your waterfalls;
all your waves and breakers
have swept over me.

8 By day the LORD directs his love,
at night his song is with me—
a prayer to the God of my life.

9 I say to God my Rock,
“Why have you forgotten me?
Why must I go about mourning,
oppressed by the enemy?”

10 My bones suffer mortal agony
as my foes taunt me,
saying to me all day long,
“Where is your God?”

11 Why are you downcast, O my soul?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God.

I’ve recently been prompted to start a journal again. I used to journal a lot, but since we started homeschooling it’s kinda gone out the window. What I like about writing a journal is how my thoughts develop over an entry. Similar to blogging I guess. I can start out writing about a,b and c and before I know it it’s developed into x,y and z! I have a lot of enlightenment when I journal. I just need to try and discipline myself better with it. Writing a journal entry is sometimes easier than praying. My thoughts stay focused and my mind doesn’t start wandering like it can when I sit in silence and pray. I guess it could be called a written prayer.

Do you journal? Do you find it helpful? Is it something, like me that you used to do but do no longer?
